What Is a Death Doula? And What Does “Death” Really Mean?

Many people think of death only as the final moment of life—but death is far more layered and personal.

We experience death any time something ends.

A relationship. A job. A belief. A season of life (aka “version of yourself”)

Even joyful changes—like parenthood or spiritual growth—can bring grief for who we once were.

As a death doula, I support more than the dying.

I walk alongside anyone navigating a major life transition.

My work is to hold space for emotional, spiritual, and symbolic deaths—the often unseen endings that shape who we become.

I offer presence, ritual, deep listening, and tools to help you:

  • Honor what you’re releasing
  • Navigate grief and uncertainty
  • Mark the moment with intention
  • Begin again, rooted and whole
